Prostate-specific antigen or PSA is a protein that can be produced by malignant or normal prostate gland cells. It is also called the serum acid phosphatase test that evaluates the levels of PSA in blood. The test uses an acid phosphate assay kit for measuring the enzyme level in blood serum.
