The homocysteine test is a blood test that generally measures the level of homocysteine in the blood. It helps in the diagnosis of several vitamin deficiencies, heart diseases, etc. A high homocysteine level is also associated with some disease conditions like atherosclerosis, osteoporosis, heart attack, thyroid dysfunction, kidney disease, psoriasis and side effects of certain medications.
