Varicella-Zoster IgM test is a serological test used to determine the presence of antibodies to VZV. Varicella (VZV) serology may be used to diagnose acute/recent varicella infection. Chickenpox and shingles are both caused by this Varicella Zoster Virus. Herpes zoster is another name used for shingles.
